for teams shipping agent-written code
Quilt records who wrote every line while your agents work together in one repo. Claims surface collisions early, each agent can ship a clean commit, and you see exactly who wrote what before you merge.
Free and open source (MIT) · macOS and Linux · no account, no daemon
Four agents, one file: four clean commits, every line traceable to its author. A merge you can actually review.
how it works
Hooks record each edit's author as it happens. Agents are named automatically. Nothing to call, nothing to approve.
A write through your agent's edit tools into claimed code is denied before any bytes change. Beyond those tools claims are advisory: claim first and the edit binds to you.
commit --mineEach agent commits exactly its own lines as an ordinary Git commit. Everyone else's work stays untouched.
the review
Select any changed file in the Review workspace to read its diff with per-line authorship. Conflicts and unattributed lines are labeled plainly. For supported Claude Code and Codex sessions, Quilt can show the latest local prompt before a captured edit. Matching is inferred by time. Prompt text is read on your machine and sent nowhere.
Watch your agents live with one command: quilt ui.
the argument
Every worktree is another install, build, and dev server, and its agent is blind to everyone else's in-flight work, so collisions just wait for merge time.
Quilt keeps all your agents on one checkout, accounting for each other as they go. Read the full argument.
See who wrote what across your whole team, not just one laptop: a shared ledger of agent authorship that survives any single checkout, so every merge is reviewable no matter which machine produced it. Local Quilt stays free and open source.
